Description

Somerset Villa is a new-build residential dwelling in the centre of Bath, replacing an existing bungalow. The building incorporates traditional Bath-house design to the front façade, and a modern rendered elevation to the rear.

Challenges

The plot is situated on a narrow lane, and the site slopes down a gradual hill, making the initial phase of excavation and formation of the foundations a difficult task. Deliveries of materials had to be co-ordinated to provide goods on time, whilst causing minimal disruption to local residents.
